Ministry of Tourism announces dates of 7th ITM in Agartala two days ahead of the event

The Ministry of Tourism (MoT), Government of India, in association with the Department of Tourism, Government of Tripura and the North Eastern States will be organising the International Tourism Mart in Agartala, Tripura from November 22-24, 2018 at the Pragna Bhawan.

Though the destination for 7th ITM was clear from quite some time, the dates were made public at 5:32 pm today, i.e. November 20, two days ahead of the event commencement on the PIB website.

The official release stated that 23 tour operators and travel agents and 18 media representatives from 18 countries (Australia, Canada, China, France, Indonesia, Japan, Kenya, Malaysia, Myanmar, Netherlands, New Zealand, Russia, South Africa, South Korea, Spain, Thailand, the UAE and the USA) will attend the mart in Tripura.

26 domestic tour operators and 78 travel suppliers from the North Eastern States will also participate be present at the mart along with representatives from the state tourism departments of the North East States.

ITM Agartala will be inaugurated by Prof. Kaptan Singh Solanki, Governor of Tripura in the presence of KJ Alphons, Union Minister of State for Tourism (I/C), Biplab Kumar Deb, Chief Minister of Tripura, Rashmi Verma, Union Tourism Secretary and other dignitaries from central ministries and the North Eastern States.

The three-day event will also feature presentations by state governments of the region on their tourism potential, panel discussions, cultural evenings, sightseeing visits to local attractions in and around Agartala, post familiarisation tours and a press meet on November 23, 2018.

An exhibition by state tourism departments from the North Eastern States including display of beautiful handicrafts and handlooms is also being organised, to showcase the tourism products of respective participating states.
