The Association of Domestic Tour Operators of India (ADTOI) is all set to witness the next election on Saturday, August 11 (tentative). Harbans Singh is appointed as the returning officer for the upcoming elections and he is yet to officially announce the date.
This was confirmed by PP Khanna, President, ADTOI at the association’s General House Meeting yesterday at Country Inn & Suites By Radisson Sohna Road in Gurugram attended by over 50 members.
“In the current term, ADTOI has sailed smoothly working in tandem with all chambers and ministries and engaging the members with workshops and events. The association has also played a vital role in getting domestic tourism and the related tour operators their fair share of recognition. The domestic travellers in India have grown to 1.70 billion and the substantial figure can’t be ignored as it is contributing significantly to the country’s economy,” said Khanna.
The President also informed the members that both him and Rajat Sawhney, Vice President, ADTOI met the officials from Ministry of Development of North Eastern Region (DoNER) recently. He shared that DoNER is very keen on holding ADTOI Convention in the region either this year or the next year. Thus the association is also contemplating on taking its convention to Guwahati, Assam or Shillong.
The association will also be signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with PHD Chamber of Commerce to promote the Krishna tourism circuit. Among other updates, Khanna shared that Hosted buyer program is open for ADTOI members for attending Rajasthan Domestic Travel Mart 2018, scheduled to be held from July 20-22 in Jaipur.
Khanna is also the Exhibition Manager for India Global Travel Mart (IGTM) 2018, hence ADTOI members can get in touch with the secretariat for buying booth or sponsorship opportunities. The Federation of Associations in Indian Tourism and Hospitality (FAITH) and Ministry of Tourism (MoT), Government of India have come together to organise IGTM from September 16-18 at Vigyan Bhawan, New Delhi.
The ADTOI website’s new look is live now and efforts are on to link it with Incredible India’s new website once it’s launched officially, said Chetan Gupta, Honorary General Secretary, ADTOI.
