Turkish Airlines announced its plans to start off its flight operations from Marrakesh in Morocco to Istanbul. The Istanbul – Marrakesh – Istanbul flights are planned five times a week and will be launched as of March 27, 2019.

Marrakesh is both the first capital of Morocco and one of its most important cities. It’s a gateway to the North African desert and is known as “the red city” because of the colour of its buildings at sunset. Here, you can discover the intersection of Arab architecture and desert culture and the wonderful atmosphere this fusion of cultures has created. The city’s gardens, mosques, palaces, streets and even the food all show off the fruits of this coming together of cultures.

According to the December 2018 Traffic Results of Turkish Airlines, the total number of passengers carried went up by 1% reaching 5.5 million passengers, and the load factor went up to 80.2%.

During January-December 2018, increase in demand and a total number of passengers was 10%, over the same period of last year. A total number of passengers reached to 75,2 million. Also, total load factor improved by 3 points up to 82%, while the international load factor increased by 3 points reaching 81%.
