Just off the northwest coast of Lombok, on Gili Meno – the most untouched, charming and tiniest of the three Gili Islands, in Indonesia, Karma Reef is all set for relaunch post complete renovation since the earthquake that struck in August 2018.
The property will reopen before Nyepi (the Day of Silence on the island of Gods, everything’s shut, the airport’s shut, no planes flying in or out), on March 4 with brand new Karma Beach restaurant accompanied by Tiki Bar, a beautiful Karma Spa Tent, One bedroom Sea Front and Sea View Tents and One Bedroom Sea Front Bungalows.
From Praya International Airport (LOP), the resort can arrange pick up in its air-conditioned car and transferred via speedboat to Gili Meno. The journey is less than 2 hours by car and approximately 15 minutes by private speedboat. The price for up to 4 persons is US$100 one way. This option is also available after sunset when all public boats have stopped operating.
Public boats make hourly trips between Bangsal Harbor Lombok and Gili Air, Gili Meno and Gili Trawangan between 09:00 and 17:00 (in both directions). From Bangsal to Gili Meno generally takes about 20 to 30 minutes. Local slow boats cost IDR15,000 per person and fast boats cost IDR85,000 per person. The harbour of Gili Meno is located at the south entrance of the resort.
An ode to authentic, sustainable architecture that is consciously designed to leave the lightest possible footprint on the environment, all of Karma Reef’s beachfront lumbung-style bungalows are stylishly appointed with comfort in mind. Perfect for couples and families, each two-storey bungalow features rustic stone and tropical hardwoods, contemporary furnishings, and an upstairs air-conditioned double bedroom with a private balcony overlooking clear, turquoise waters.
A leisurely grazing lunch or romantic dinner can be relished at Karma Beach Gili Meno’s Restaurant where Mediterranean-inspired cuisine, wood-fired pizzas and succulent tapas-style dishes as well as seductive signature cocktails, custom designed by internationally renowned mixologist Grant Collins, complement captivating ocean views. Bicycles and non-motorized water sports are free for guests to enjoy at their leisure. Room service breakfast is included in the room rate.
Guests at the resort enjoy exclusive access to a secret beach, where they indulge in blissful spa treatments, feast on freshly caught seafood, or kick back with a cocktail before strolling barefoot to their beautiful beachfront bungalow or luxurious glamping tent.
